  Hi,

  This is more of a Windows question that affects SQL.

  How can I prevent a standard user from accessing services on a Windows 2008 O/S, so they cannot stop SQL Server Services?

  All SQL permissions are tight, but I am not sure what permissions I need to change to ensure that I am the only one who can stop and start SQL Services.

  I think you can setup a group policy for a service and add a user to that group not sure if's its locally on the server or in AD.

  But if the user is already in another group those permissions will take precedence.
