We have an Oracle data source configured in Power BI Report Server. We have the Oracle 19c Client installed and configured. We used information from the Microsoft website to configure the server.
Works great for a while but then we start receiving the following error when running a report using the Oracle data source -
“ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified”
A quick google of the error brings up pages on how to resolve the error but those things are already done and were working. I check the environment variable, the tnsnames.ora file is correct and I don’t see any errors in the report servers’ log files.
While we are receiving this error in the Report Servers’ web page, we run an Oracle utility that installed with the client and it checks the configuration and successfully connects to the Oracle database.
Restarting the Power BI Report Server service resolves the issue for a while, but within a day or two (depending on usage?) we start getting the error again.
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?
Thanks
