At this point I am not able/ready to upgrade my packages, but I need to run them on a SQL 2008 server. I know there will be issues if I try to run the SQL 2008 DTEXEC, but I am looking at installing the SQL 2005 SSIS tools onto my SQL 2008 server and trying to run the packages using the 2005 DTEXEC via a scheduled cmdexec task.
Has anyone tried/done this?
Did it work?
Were there any issues?

SSIS 2008 can coexist side-by-side with both SSIS 2005 and SSIS 2000. For more information about compatibility issues, see "Interoperability and Coexistence" at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb522577.aspx .

Thanks, but I'm looking for a bit more. Has anyone actually tried it. I've found a bunch of 'it should work' responses, but I'm hoping I can find someone who can confirm.

There are a few tips on this forum post, from someone who installed 2005 and 2008 on the same machine.
