Can we generate reports while evaluating policies. Also, using SQL server 2008 can we run it to evaluate on SQL Server 2005?

Yes, you can run reports while policies are being evaluated but you won't see a complete picture. Out of the box, no, you can not run policies against anything except SQL Server 2008. But, if you want to implement policies on 2000 and 2005, there is a way. Here on Codeplex[/url] is an excellent little app and a set of reports called the Enterprise Policy Management Framework that will allow you to get PBM running against all the servers in your enterprise. We've been using for six months now and it's excellent.

By any chance, is there a policy template for detecting disabled jobs in a server.
If so, please share with me.

There are none of checking for disabled jobs out of the box, but that would be a very simple one to implement. There is one for checking that the Agent itself is enabled.
