Hi All,
I have installed SQL 2005 in my server. The service pack installed is SP1. After installation the server goes down frequently. In event viewer am not able to find out what is the reason for abrupt shut down. I have enabled c2 audit in the server. In trace also am not able to get any information. two times it went down as soon as I clicked SSMS shortcut in the desktop.
Could any one please help me in finding out this issue.
Thanks in advance....
Thanks

Did you check the SQL Server error log and the SQL Dump file?

you need at least sp3 on sql 2005. If you click on a shorcut and it goes down, sounds like a hardware spec issue. Was the hardware ready in spec for a upgrade to sql 2005?

I checked the error log and dump file. But not able to get any details regarding shut down.
Before installing SP3 the server went down. After installing SQL 2005, shutting down the server is frequent. I will install Sp3 and let you know the update.
Thanks for the reply.
Thanks
