there is one job which has ste of steps...all steps are executing fine..the last step is copy stored procedures...this step copies all the sps from prod box and deploys it in uat box..this step is using DTS package..all the dbs are in sql 2005.now this package runs fine but it doesnt update the stored procs in uat box...i go to legacy under management in SSMS and right prop on the dts package..when i click on sleect objects in the copy tab i see "Error 21776:General error".i click it 12 times and then im able to select the procs..still the package is not updating the procs in uat box...please suggest me...

I get the same error. I don't know what causes it, but I suspect it has something to do with the objects being in SQL 2005 because it works between SQL 2000 databases.
You could try creating an SSIS package that includes a Copy Objects Task.

i dont see copy objects task..i see transfer database objecst taks..i did use that..it doesnt work

Sorry, I used the DTS task name. I haven't actually used the task in SSIS, so I can't offer any advice about it's use, but a search on this site lists a lot of articles and forum posts.

ok..found the solution..my colleague actually found it...he had to drop the procs first before copying them. I did find an an article on this website..thanks..
