I want my report to be pivoted.
my data

abc - 29.99 - 8 - 2013

results I want in my report is this:
product - sumamt - month - Year - sumamt - month - year
abc - 70.00 - 7 - 2013 - 46.00 - 8 - 2013
zzz - 38.00 - 7 - 2013 - 92.00 - 8 - 2013

An Access crosstab query will do some of what you are after, but it won't produce the format you are after as it only allows one column header. The pivot tools in Access are generally inferior to what you can do in Excel, so my suggestion would be to produce your report in Excel rather than Access. It's also important to know your version of Access as the tools vary depending on the version - some features have been removed in 2013 for example.
