Is there a single, authoritative source for the display format of telephone numbers worldwide? I am storing US phone numbers in char(10) columns, then when we display them we use a mask to display 800-555-1212. I would like to find a list of non-US phone system masks.

I don't know of a list that has all the different phone formats.
But IMHO, I would consider this a presentation layer issue, not a db issue.

I agree, it is a presentation layer issue. I am just trying to help out the GUI coders by getting the mask for them and stashing it in the database.

Thanks, sushila. That didn't show up in the first thousand or so of my google search, but it looks like exactly what I needed.
