Personal Accomplishments: 8000 posts, 20K+ visits.

  • Hey I hit a personal milestone here on SSC with this post.

this is my 8000th post, and I've got over 20,000 visits.

I try to include a code example in most of my posts, and the 20K visits pretty much means (for me) that there was a lot of threads I read, and then copy/pasted/tested the examples I saw during those visits.

SSC has helped make me better in TSQL, that's for sure.

  • Nice Lowell, gratz.

And yes, you almost always contribute on every post you make, I don't think anyone believes you'd 'pump' the count. 🙂 The Thread doesn't count. 😉

  • What's a visit?

    What's a visit?

    thats a good question.

My visit count is more than double my posts, either some people remain logged on for ever or visits are counted oddly. I think it may be how often you go into 'active threads'. If you get to threads via forums, perhaps it causes less ticks on your visit count.

I once thought that if I cannot get the highest post count I'll go for highest visits, till I saw someone has over 100,000 visits with no points!

    but I digress, congrats Lowell

  • i always assumed a visit was the typical web session; 20 minutes of inactivity closes your session (or switching browsers, or closing and reopening?)

  • I was asking about what constitutes a visit because I've been a member since 2005 and , although I've only recently started to actually respond to posts, I visit the site very frequently, usually from the daily email. I only show 900+ visits. I stay logged in at work and at home.

Congrats, and I'd say an extremely high percentage of those posts contain quality code and advice. Thanks for the contributions.
