Permissions for monitoring database

  Hi all

  Situation: We have a HP Openview Servicedesk database with 500 users and a new database will be setup for reporting only (with replication) as the production one don't have optimized indexes and altering these will result in non-supportability.

  The project team that want to monitor database acitivities shouldn't have sysadmin rights - any ways of doing this? I read about the Alter Trace rights - will this give enough rights or should we setup a new instance with a replicated database on it and let them have the full sysadmin rights?

  They want the trace of all statements going through, or are they looking for something more?
