SSRS 2014, Native mode. The error message:
"AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user 'domain\username' are insufficient for performing this operation."
I have two developers, one permanent and one consultant. They are both in the 'content Manager' role in their specific/assigned folder. The permanent has created and modified datasources & reports in the past (months ago). Neither can currently modify anything through the report manager page. The permanent employee cannot modify a datasource he created and modified a few months ago. As a test, they have both created a datasource, got an error when they try to modify/manage that datasource, then were successful in deleting the same datasource.
As a test/diagnostic, I put them both in the 'system Administrator' role under site settings. They got the same error when trying to modify/manage an existing datasource.
We have other developers who are in the 'system user' role under site settings and 'content manager' under their specific folder. They don't have any problems creating or modifying SSRS objects. I am in 'system Administrator' role and can manage/modify anything without error.
I don't see how this can be a permissions issue.
I would appreciate any suggestions on what to look at next.
Thanks,
Tom

I don't know what caused the problem, but I have a work-around that appears to be working. I deleted the two individuals completely from SSRS and then granted the same permissions to a Windows domain group that they belong to.
Thanks and my apologies for any time you wasted considering this.
Tom
