Hi
I am trying to understand the Performance Point dashboards.
I think Cube is the best data source to work with
we can also connect to various sources like Excel, SQL Server, Excel Services from SharePoint...etc.
I don't see any use of the non-analytic data source, I cant create any thing with these.
I see the report items are of Analytic Chart, report...etc. which I am not able to really tie the data source.
Performance Point only works good for SSAS Cube only?

You can connect to regular SQL Server tables. We do that in a rare instance where we want to populate a filter with some options we've put into a table.
