Hi All,
I have a similar issue where we got alerts from our monitoring tool with the following messages.
>Failed on Cache Hit Ratio counter
>Failed on Batch Requests/sec counter
>Failed on Page Reads/ Sec Counter
>Can't find counter for object\counter\instance SQLServer:Buffer Manager\Buffer cache hit ratio
Im not sure what to do when this kind alert triggers.
Please help me out if anyone has a resolution for this.
Thanks in advance.

This was something pretty common in 2000 but I haven't seen it with 2005. However, here are a couple of links to review.

I would follow the steps in the first article prior to going through the second.
Please reply to let me know if this helps.
