Performance and functionality comparison of third-party backup software products with compression and encryption for SQL 2000 ?

    Hi all,

    I would like to hear from those of you who have used/evaluated SQL LiteSpeed, SQL Backup Pro and SQLSafe or the like

    to share your experiences with these and other third-party backup software products for SQL Server 2000/2005.

    I have found some discussions at SQLServerCentral from about 4 months ago.

    I wonder if there are more recent reviews/comparisons that provide comparison as to which has the best compression, fastest backup and restore time, being more affordable... .

    been using LiteSpeed for about a year now... works as advertised!

    10:1 compression, or there abouts... your mileage may vary...

    easy to use interface...

    has saved me a few times... for me, when its 3:00 in the morning, and I need to recover a database and forget about it... I want easy... LiteSpeed works!

    I'm starting to evaluate Litespeed for my main production db server.

    It has one big production database, with fullbackups around 280gb.

    I guess I'll find out how Litespeed works as soon as I have time to start evaluating it, but I'm curious about other peoples experiences on f.ex RedGates software and possibly hear from someone that has experience with both and has the ability to compare the two products.
