Hi all,
The issue of perfmon has been widely discussed elsewhere. I have some difficulties though to carryout some tasks.
I wanted to collect performance metrics on MS SQL memory usage. I did add a counter "SQL Server: Mermory Management: Total Server Memory counter" as outlined by Whalen et al. (2007). PP. 947-951. All went well. However, when I right clicked the newly added counter and choose start, the process fails to start. The log does not change it's colour from red to green.
I got the following message in the even history viewer:
"Windows can not load extensible counter dll MSSQLSERVER. The First DWORD in data section is the windows error code"
I am running a SQL Server (MSDE) on a remote client that I manage cnetrally.
I was wondering if anyone could give me a hint to start going.
G'day

Hi,
Does perfmon support MSDE at all? Which versions (edition) SQL server support perfmon?
Would appreciate if anyone could give me a hint on this.
G'd
