Please do not request, not ask for materials that are under NDA. To study for an exam, use public materials or books, but do not ask someone to get you information about the actual exam. It could cause both of you to lose certification.

thanks.
I did not understand before your answer that I should mark unchecked checkboxes in order to unsubscribe

I thought that if checkboxes are unmarked, then I am unsubscribed

Hi Valek,Seems like you are so successful in BI Stream.
My question is I have no idea about BI before. I am going to learn everything from scratch. Can you please recommend me the books and learning materials you referred too? I am sorry for asking you a big question but your help would be really useful for me.
Appreciate your help,
Rakesh
Rakesh,
you need to zero down on a BI Tool even before thinking of any book to pursue.
There are umpteen number of tools in the market...including both open source and Licensed...
I would suggest you be comfortable with SQL and basics and then proceed towards BI. you may try any available open source product for the sake of study purpose.

Hi Raunak,
Thank you so much for the reply.
I just passed my MCTS: SQL 2008 70-433 exam couple of days ago. My boss has imposed a requirement like I should pass this business intelligence in 2 months. So time is ticking and I am very nervous because I have no idea about BI till now.
So , I would really appreciate it if you can please tell me like which books and specific software you used. I know that 70-448 offiical book doesn't contain much details. I experienced it with 70-433 itself. So can you please let me know how to proceed?
Thanks,
Rakesh

Rakesh,
You may Begin with SSIS (Integration Services) followed by SSAS (Analysis Service) and Lastly by SSRS (Reporting Service)
Please follow the link below:
Hope this helps.
Best of luck!!!

Hey Rakesh, First of all, sorry you have a boss that would impose such a requirement and unrealistic time line. In my opinion this forces you to memorize what tool/box/property does what instead of getting hands on experience. With such a short time frame, don't count out the Microsoft official exam guide book. Two months isn't going to be enough time to become expert in any of the tools, so I would suggest getting a high level overview of each tool set, then go a bit deeper. They are also the authors of the test, so it will at least walk you though the topics that will be covered. To get deeper into the tools, I have heard really good things about Knight's 24-Hour Trainer: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration Services. It's fairly short compared to most books out there as well, so it might fit into your schedule. Since you have passed the 70-443, my guess is you are familiar with SQL Server well enough, so my guess is reporting services and integration services (or ETL in general) are probably going to be easier to grasp than Analysis Services and Data Mining which will be on the test. I would take additional time understanding these as the concepts and languages are in my opinion the most different from the others. Unfortunately I haven't read a good book on the subject, I can tell you the step by step book (at least for 2005 SSAS) was very high level and didn't really help too much. One place you may want to look as well is BIDN.com, which is fairly new but contains a bunch of short video tutorials, many of them geared toward beginners.
Hope this helps you some, Good luck on your test!

Hi All
Last week I sit in Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS 70-448) exam for Business Intelligence (DWH) using SQL Server 2008 and pass the exam by getting 1000/1000 marks ( Hurrah).
I have been working in business intelligence with Microsoft suit for the last three years. I spent quite bit of time preparing for this exam. I have used MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-448): Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 - Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance, and initially for exam prep it is good book to start with. I have used Business Intelligence Developer 2008 Practice Exams from Transcender and it helps me a lot. I have also read through the book Expert cube development with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (written by Chris Web, Alberto, and Marco).
I hope this information will be helpful for those who will be sitting in the exam soon.
If you have any question please let me know.
Many thanks

Hi
I have passed the 70-448 exams yesterday.
I work a lot with the Training Kit, i have prepared the exam with the 201 questions from the book, I have done almost all the exercises and unfortunately, i didn’t get sufficiently point to get certified! I had 674 points 🙁
What can i do to improve my score?
Thank you

Dude,
Can you please suggest me which book or material did you use for studying SSAS?
I think you should practise more. Is this your first MS exam?

I thought the pass mark was 700. How did you pass with 674?
