Congrats to all who have passed, I just passed my own 70-448 exam yesterday and am glad to have it done. For anyone who is interested in studying for this exam, I would suggest the MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-448): Microsoft SQL Server 2008-Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance book. I found this book to follow the exam topics listed on the Microsoft website very closely which made it easy to prepare for the test. It's also pretty easy to read compared to some other training guides I have read. It's not the definitive book on any of the key areas by any means, but it will give you the foundation you need to help you pass this exam.

Can you suggest a certification for BI and any pre-requisite. if any.
70-448 is requirement for MCTS - SQL Server 2008, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance certification
Additionally if you pass the 70-452 you get MCITP - Business Intelligence Developer 2008 certification

Hi Raunak,
It has been long I have taken 70-448 but I had then noted down my review at my blog post 71-448: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance certification exam review
I think, those notes are not against regulations on MS certification.

Hi Adam,
Firstly, congratulations on passing 70-448 ! Could you please elucidate whether simulation questions were asked else was it purely theoretical ? Thanks !!

Hey ragu_ips,
For the MCTS, I would focus more on theory, what command/tool/option does what vs. the "How would you solve this kind of problem?" questions. I believe the MCITP test(s) are formatted more like the latter, but I haven't ventured down that path yet. I hope this helps, not sure how much one is able to divulge before big brother starts knocking on the door. : ) Good luck on your test!

Hi,
This is certainly useful info for a lot of us who aspire to get this certification. I have only used SQL server for transaction processing, I have used it for about 5 years now, and I come from a programming background. I am interested in learning about SSAS/SSIS/SSRS. I have used SSIS a lot at work, but completely new to SSAS and SSRS. Can someone suggest beginner level book for SSAS and SSRS. I need something that will also teach basic data warehousing concepts and have lot of example and sample to practice. I have SQL server developer edition on my home PC to practice.
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
ksun

Hi Valek,
Seems like you are so successful in BI Stream.
My question is I have no idea about BI before. I am going to learn everything from scratch. Can you please recommend me the books and learning materials you referred too? I am sorry for asking you a big question but your help would be really useful for me.
Appreciate your help,
Rakesh
