I'm planning to attend the PASS Summit 2010 on company money. I've always wanted to go.
But I must wonder, is it worth the money? I'm only 3 years into the industry and still have much to learn.
Anybody went to the conference?

Why do you have to care about company money? Go and enjoy it !
I am more in this industry than you, but unfortunately I have never been on this conference, and I would love to go. I am sure you will learn a lot there.

I've never been to PASS Summit but I'd love to go some day.
Regarding the value of it:
Don't get me wrong, but the value of the Summit for you is influenced only by one person, and that's you.
I think the most important thing is to pick sessions with a topic you're familiar with and that will match your skills as well as the needs of your company. Just don't expect to find any 101 type sessions.
And to have the chance to meet some of the SQL gurus in person is just priceless. It might happen that you'll get more out of a smalltalk than you'll get out of any session.
Either way: if you get the chance to go there: Go for it and make the best out of it for you and your company! I'm jealous!

I have been once and will be there again this year. I can definitely say that it is well worth the money.

I've been to the Summit most years, and there are two big values from going:
1. Getting great educational presentations that teach you things and get you to think.
2. Networking with other DBAs, that can also inspire, motivate, and help you grow.
I think that the Summit provides this with 1500+ people every year, and if you like the large environment, it's worth it. However I think that a lot of the same things I see at the Summit occur at local events like SQL Saturday. Those are free, but only 1 day, and there's less networking. Still some, but less.
The SQLRally that is planned for May next Orlando is another great choice. If money is an issue, I'd consider that, with 2 days of content at 1/4 or less of the price.
