Partition Manager

    Hi,

    I have recently be able to access the SQL Server 2000 Resource Kit and tried to use the Partition Manager tool. However, I am not able to use it for the best part, i.e., create monthly partitions with different source table/view.

    You should try to get the newer version (I think called Aggregation Utility) which comes with SSABI (sql server accelerator for BI), avail on the downloads site (msdn).

    Alternatively, have you tried creating the partitions manually and when doing this chosing a different table/view as the source?

    Lastly, Mosha (Posumansky?) has a link to yet another partition tool on his website (http://www.mosha.com).  I have tried it but kept getting fatal errors - obviously a case of operator error
