Partial backup is nothing but the differential backup. If we need to restore differential backup, initially restore FULL backup then differential backup.
Full backup --> every day backup
Differential backup --> every 1 hour or 2 hour
Log backup --> every 15 mins or 30 mins
Restoring process is
1. Restore the FULL backup with NoRecovery Mode
2. Database will be Restoring mode
3. then restore Differential backup
4. then Restore LOG backup with Recovery Mode.
