this is quite interesting. heard of a product called paracel which allows you
to run queries across tables WITHOUT INDEXES? transactions which take
hours or even days reduced to the duration of minutes??
anyone hear of something like this?

It is probably fantastic, but it is a wrapper around BLAST for Solaris systems that are using 32 or more processors and are having trouble reading data fast enough.
I managed a solaris box for a bit and I got a document from them at some point.
They do something with multi-threading for database reading that is supposed to be really fast.

i'm compelled at this point to reiterate about how sql will do the same when
looking into adjusting the affinity mask, or maxdop in sql.... however; i'm
not going to get hung up on that at the moment.
so they can do more multi-threaded processing because they utilize more
CPU's, but whats this i hear about no indexes?
is it true? can they do unreal amounts of queries across huge tables without
indexes? i mean to me... it's against any traditional RDBMS principles when getting your data quickly without indexes.
any thoughts on that?
