    Hi, I'm having some trouble grasping the concept of the Pad Index option, I haven't been able to find a lot of documentation explaining the pros and cons of this option and what it really does. Anyone have any info?

    Pad index is related with the fill factor. Basically, the fill factor option leaves the percentage you specified free in the leaf pages of an index. The bigger the fill factor the more free space you have (this avoid frecuent page splits) and also the bigger the index, because it consumes more pages. The fill factor affects only the leafes pages of the index. But if you also specified pad_index, means that the percentage will also affect to the non leafes pages, this is all the pages of the index.
