When I came in this morning, our SQL Server was non-responsive. We ended up re-starting the server just to get SQL back up and running again. When I checked job log histories, nothing ran after 11:00 PM last night and we have several that should have run. I checked the SQL Server log which doesn't have an entry past 11:00 PM last night when the log backups last ran until this morning at 7:59 AM when we re-started the server. Windows event viewer logs don't show anything of consequence either.
Where else can I look that will provide some clues as to what happened over night?

You could check hardware logs/application logs.
