I have to agree with Bruce here, ... I think you're over-complicating what you need. Also, I have to wonder how much effort you already have into this, as well as how much effort it will take for you to code the application. Despite any management claims to the contrary, you're time spent on such a project is NOT free. It has the cost associated with other things not getting done because you're working on this instead. Try measuring that against the cost of diagramming tools that already do this, and I suspect you'll quickly realize that after figuring in all the maintenance your application will need over time in order to accommodate scenarios you haven't even though of yet, you're far better off buying the tool instead of re-inventing the wheel because someone thinks there's no actual cost involved. As I indicated before, just like blind normalization, more automation is not always the best way to go.
