Hello all,
Does anyone know if the functionality of Oracle Data Guard (Separation of Duties) is available under SQL Server 2012?

Mirroring or AlwaysOn would be the equivalent of Data Guard in SQL Server, although it has some fundamental differences (e.g. it's at the level of an individual database, rather than a whole instance).
Not sure what you mean by "seperation of duties" in relation to Data Guard. That term relates to security and organisational practices? Do you mean "Shared Nothing Architecture", or am I misunderstanding?

Thanks for your reply. What I meant by 'Separation of Duties' was the ability to block sensitive data from being viewed by sysadmins. This can be done in Oracle via Data Guard.

Do you mean Database Vault rather than Data Guard? Data Guard is an HA/DR technology.

Yes, yes! Arggghhhhh! My bad, sorry for the confusion, too much going on here!
Let me rephrase, does SQL Seriver 2012 have functionality similar to Oracle Database Vault?

Not in the same way as Oracle, as in a pre-packaged set of configurations, permissions and audit rules, but it has all the constituent parts in order to configure this.
A good resource to start with would be this:
