Hi, I am about to set up replication for an SQL Server db used by Citrix. One server is running Windows 2000 Server while the other is Windows Server 2003. According to the Citrix documentation:
"Do not mix Windows 2000 Server with Windows Server 2003. The Distributed Transaction Coordinator service operates differently in each operating system. If you mix the operating systems, replication fails."
I've checked this in Books Online and Google but can't find any reference to conflicts between operating systems which would cause replication to fail. Has anyone experienced this issue or is the Citrix documentation incorrect?

Hi,
Are both server in the same domain?

Paul,
Citrix uses a two-phase commit (2PC) when writing changes to the data stores for various zones. I'm not aware of any issues with 2PC between Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 and a quick search against Microsoft Knowledge Base (http://support.microsoft.com/) didn't turn up anything, but that doesn't mean there isn't an issue. Have you contacted your Citrix TRM to see if you can get additional information on this?

Thanks for the replies. Both servers are in the same domain.
I haven't contacted Citrix TRM as yet - I thought I'd just try and set up replication first and see if I encounter any problems.
