We would like to access our offsite extranet from within the domain in our primary office. My question is 2 part:
I am pretty sure I need to open a port on the extranet firewall to allow access to it correct? But the bigger question is … for me to gain application access to the data and possibly replication from the extranet to our primary domain is as follows:
Do I need to open a port in the firewall for our primary domain in the office?
I guess it comes down to if a one way trust is enough or do I need a 2 way trust?

easiest way to check
get a PC, record the IP
try to access the extranet
check FW logs to see which ports are being used
create rule to open the ports
test again

There are some pretty extensive rules on what to open and not to open. The first question is how do you connect to the Extranet? Is a tunnel created by the technology? Is it a VPN technology?
