Hello all,
based on a request from the client, i tuned the OLE AUTOMATION on my SQL SERVER 2008.
i did it through the facet and than surface area configuration and than tuned the ole automation true.
now for some reason after few days, may be a week or so i is getting turned off again. for the life of me i cant figure out why its turning off...only the DBA have sys admin rights and i have already confirmed from the other dba's that they didnt turned it on.
can any one help me on this?
Thanks in advance

Somebody with permissions is turning it off. Or there is a scheduled job doing it. It is possible that a startup proc is also disabling it explicitly. Check for those things.

It would only be applicable if the SQL service had been restarted.

any idea how will I look for the job or a person who turned off the OLE... currently all i can think of is look in the error log but that will be too many entries to go by.
With Regards

You could set up a policy and raise an alert when the configuration changes. You can even prevent the change at all.
