  Like you, I too am not too happy so far with the SSIS, but I have just started to use it and hope that my experiences will improve as I understand it better.  I've actually had performance issues that I can't get a grip on (it's running about 50% slower than our DTS packages doing the same thing were).  Anyway, I'm not sure if this helps you, but there is a Microsoft download that will allow you to use the DTS designer components to edit and save DTS packages in 2005.  It's located at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d09c1d60-a13c-4479-9b91-9e8b9d835cdc&DisplayLang=en.

  Well you're doing better than I am, I can't even get my package to run.  Still have hope though but it's a tough.
