Oh, HELL NO!

  • Absolutely terrible... you guys have gotta fix this!  You guys broke one of the key features of SQLServerCentral.com...

Since the new site came up, all email notifications look like this...

Sql Server Central - New Post Notification

It used to be that the email notifications gave the name of the post and were very easy to "track" for me.  I know the name of the thread is available... you've got to put this back the way it was.  Email titles have to include the name of the thread.

  • Thanks for your feedback - the new post notification emails have been amended. We'll probably tweak more features here and there to help you get the most out of the new site!

  • Don't sugar coat it Jeff - tell us how you really feel.

Bummer - I just noticed that I cannot see the previous post while I am adding a new one.

The email notifications are not bothering me since I can just hit refresh on my RSS reader and see all of the threads I care about that have new posts.  I do agree, however, that the subject should be fixed and that the links in the emails should be fixed.

    Sometimes progress sucks...

yeah, Jeff is a real passionate guy :w00t:

Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.

  • Heh... If you couldn't tell, I was ticked about this particular problem a wee bit more than the others 😀  Ol' dogs CAN learn new tricks... we're just tired of begging

  • At my last job - we had a special recognition for the "most passionate" tech on the team.  Once a month, we put in submissions for the "Mr./Mrs. Cranky poopy pants" award,  i.e. the one who was usually "right" about what was broken - just a tad bit "effusive" about the squeaky wheel....

I'm about ready to nominate Jeff M. for that one...Anyone want to second that?

And Jeff - you made my morning with this one...Don't stop man - really!

Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part...unless you're my manager...or a director and above...or a really loud-spoken end-user..All right - what was my emergency again?

  • Mr. Cranky Poopy Pants?  Well, that "depends"... 😛

  • Steve and Steve (not me) are working hard to get things fixed. Some of this is because our usage pattern is so different and we didn't realize. Like I never get forum emails. I just check the posts that have changed.

    Jeff,

Thanks for the note and keep them coming!

  • I just check the posts that have changed...

How do you do that?  That would be most useful to me...
