We currently have a bit of VB code that gathers data from different sources (tables from 2 different SQL Servers and some basic algorithms) and places this data into an Excel spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is then massaged then sent to a client. The client can then sort the data many different ways to make decisions. We want to move this entire process to a website where this process is automated and we can specify sortable columns for our clients to view the data. I know we can use SQL Server AS and VB to write this but we would like to avoid additional internal development for right now.
DO YOU KNOW OF ANY OFF-THE-SHELF PRODUCTS OR SPECIALISTS THAT WE COULD GET TO DO THIS?

Not sure if it is what you're looking for, but have a look at SQLWebReports.

We have developed a solid OLAP/BI portal framework for SQL Server/AS based on ASP.NET, Office XP Web Components, and Crystal Reports. We have used it for both internet and intranet implementations. For full interactive data analysis, the client must be IE 5 or higher with Office XP license, for reporting and canned pivot/graph viewing, any HTML 4 browser will do.
If you would like to talk about this, shoot me an email with a time I can call. Thanks - mark

maybe BRIO supports what you are looking for.

We've used the Office web components also.
Crystal Analysis was looked at for a web portal solution, but it also looked a little pricey. They did put on a nice demo however :). If you have the money, it might be worth looking at their product.
Has anyone implemented the M$oft XML for Analysis SDK? Its a soap-based scheme for running MDX queries.
Happy Friday!

You should contact Steve Allen at Zap Technologies...his company might have what you are looking for and he is a knowledgeable contributor to this list. I believe his company's web site is at http://www.zaptechnology.com and he can be reached at sallen@zaptechnology.com. Just for the record, I have no relationship with Steve or his company...other than he has helped me many times with AS questions and seems to have a very good understanding of AS and business intelligence.
