  ODBC connection is not HIPAA compliant on SQL server 2000??  In client server environment, if an application connects to SQL via ODBC, does this mean the application is not HIPPA compliant?  Should rather use "Application Role"??

  I am afraid SQL 2000 is not HIPAA compliant. It does not natively encrypt the data.
