I have a login as Domain\User and I tried to build a ODBC with NT Authentication using network login ID (radio button) and the check box to connect to SQL server to obtain default settings for additional configuration options (checked) on the Create Data Source to SQL server screen. When I click on next I get a message:
Connection Failed:
SQLState" '28000'
SQL server Error: 18452
[Microsoft] [ODBC SQL server Driver][Sql server] login failed for user '(null)'. Reason:Not associated with a trusted SQL server connection.
What does it mean when I created a ASC_West/based login (NT domain ASC_west has a login ID as based); I did use the same password as NT password, is'nt that enough to create a trusted connection. Please help
Thanks

I found the problem, even though I was on the network my machine was not registered to the Domain. That fixed it!
