ODBC Driver Manager error

  • Hi All,

From my Third party application, I am trying to connect to my SQL Server 2005 DB, but I get the following error: "Data source name not found and no default driver specified - State IM002, Native:0, Origin: ODBC Driver Manager".

Please any idea what is happening?

    Thanks a lot.

  • What is your third party application? Did you ask your third party what driver you need?

  • The Software Application is Merak Peep...and I haven't asked them yet, because I want to be sure that is nothing with the DB...any idea??

  • Try the link below.

Read the paragraph of the description. It is related to a driver used in application with the same error code you got.

    May it help.

  • Hi,

I checked the DSN Data Source, and it looks nothing is missing, how can I test if the DSN created on the PC is working properly?

    Thank you.

  • Is the application working on a 64 bits OS? We had some problems on Vista 64, because running odbcad32 starts the ODBC manager for 64 bits applications; for 32 bits application, you should run c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.

    Hope this help

    Regards
