I trying to configure my ODBC connection in windows to point to my default SQL db. When I attempt to configure the ODBC, I choose the dropdown for my default db and I see my database there. I choose the database name and save. However, it always returns back to "default" and not my database name. We've looked at the access rights and they appear to be ok on the db. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dominic

I don't get an error message. When I return to the OBDC configuration it's set back to "Default" instead of the database I choose.

I tried same thing here but no luck to see same behaviour
Below were my steps
1. User DSN
2. SQL Server driver
3. Provided msdb as default database
4. tested connection and it worked.
5. Came back and found msdb was selected
Now my next questions will be ...
1. What DSN you are creating?
2. Provider?
3. Windows 2000 or Windows 2003?
4. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI\<DSN Name here> ?

did you check the user(Window/SQL) created on the server & default Database while creating.
