I have a user connecting with ODBC to one of my servers, he can see some DBs. But not others. Security is correct, I've even set him up with a SQL Id and it won't work.
I can use QA and get to the DBs.
There was some kind of quick fix, I can't find it on MS either.
I had this problem before and thought I had posted it here, but somehow when I search by my ID, I don't get all of the entries.
Although I admit I may not have posted the resolution, I usually do, but I say usually.

Still don't have a resolution, but here is some further info.
I created a dummy id, it has the same problem.
I cannot see the DB in the ODBC setup DB list drop down. BUT if I UNcheck the box "Conect to SQL Server to get Default settings ..." I can type in the DB Name and everything works.
I can use it with QA and DO see the DBs.
I created a dummy DB and this userid appeared it it with rights to access it !!!!!
All I did was a create DB ????
This one is really flaky

Hi
odbc sets up catalog,
database is there, but you can not see it.
use fully qualified name.
e.g. select * from databasename.dbo.tablename

Is this maybe caused by the user being defined in model?

Solved the problem. Guest was messed up, don't know how but fixed it.
Still don't know why the use appeared, I didn't create it in model so it's just going to be a mystery.
Thanks for all.
