I have several reports that seem to be failing occasionally. I can't reproduce the failure when I run it manually, but it fails sometimes when sending out subscriptions. Now I can tell from the execution log that it failed, but I can't tell why. The only error message I get is "An error occurred during report execution". This is not a meaningful error message. I need the full error message for reports that ran in the past. Is there any way that I can get this?

This really shouldn't be too much to ask for, should it?

Nothing? What a bummer. It's almost impossible to troubleshoot these problems without an error message...

are you looking in the log files? I think for a default installation they are located here:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles
You should get the full description of the error there.
