Not able to start SSRS service

    Hi,

    We have recently installed SQL Server security update SQLServer2005-KB948109-x86-ENU

    on our SQL server 2005 SP2 instance(-32bit) after that we started getting below message from event viewer:

    .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: Microsoft.ReportingServices.QueryDesigners, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 . Error code = 0x80070002

    Not able to start SSRS service. Please advice how can we start the SSRS service

    We tried rebooting the server and also restarting service ".NET Runtime Optimization Service v2.0.50727_X86" but could not start SSRS service

    Is there anything in the logs? Or in the reporting services logs?

    Sorry to spam you about this. i just noticed you're at SP2. Is there a reason you're staying at that SP level. There's a SP 3 & 4 too. Othere people with this problem have said that the problem went away after other updates.

    Thanks Steven for your reply.

    We could resolve the issue by restoring back SSRS encryption key and than starting SSRS service.
