Just migrated to a new server.
Running Sql Server 2005, have applied SP3, 64 bit.
Not able to create maintenance plans, I get an error.
Unable to execute requested command.
The action you attempted to perform on a remote instance of SQL Server has failed because the action requires a SQL component that is not installed on the remote computer.
I just started working with SQL Server and would appreciate any input, thanks.

Do you have SSIS installed?

It is installed.
I did a migration from a 32 bit to a 64 bit server yesterday.
I created a named instance, realized that I should have created a default instance, no way to undo, so installed another instance-default.
Am able to connect to the default instance from SSIS.
Just did a test am able to create a maintainence plan on the named instance.
I know now some components were not installed yesterday as we were rushing to get the server back up, how do I go back and just add what is needed?

Is it possible your client tools are at a different rev from the server? Meaning are they both SP2, SP3, etc.?
