I am not sure if this question is already posed before. But, I wanted to know if non-SQL Server
certifications would be useful.
Like if you are looking for better position in your team like a team lead or project lead, then would something like PMP or ITIL help.
And, would this certification have more value along with your SQL Server experience in the industry.
Please share your thoughts.

Not sure about ITIL, but if you are looking at getting into Project Management of software projects, then the PMP would be of benefit.

I think it's very dependant on the company and the position. Within my company, a DBA project/team lead is judged differently than a developer project/team lead. The more technical teams (DBA, network, storage) are insulated from the business users and typically only deal with other technical people, so they don't value PMP/ITIL certifications. On the other hand, developer teams place more value on these "soft skills".
Note that the PMI also offers a CAPM certification in project management as an entry-level certification. This might be a better alternative to the PMP if you want to remain in a technical position. The PMP is targeted for people who are full-time project managers with very little hands-on technical work.
Just stay away from the Comptia Project+ certification. From my research, it seems to not be worth the time and effort to achieve this one.
