Just installed VS 2008...
File... New... Project... but no "Integration Services Project" type is available.
I'm guessing this is something fundamental. What am I missing here?
Thanks,
Greg

Have you installed BIDS from SQL install?

No, I installed VS from a VS disc.
So... the VS I'm looking for is actually an install off the SQL Server media?
thanks BTW.

Yes. It's better to install both, but the Bus. Intelligence stuff (SSIS) comes from the SQL media.

To expand on the answer:
* if you install VS 2008 first, as you did, then SQL Server only installs some templates into VS, so that BI projects can be created
* if VS is not installed, SQL Server will only install a "shell" of VS, that can only be used to create BI projects
Need an answer? No, you need a question
