Hi DBA'S
I had a server where there is a sql server 2008, i cant see sql server management studio installed.i checked service s there i can see sql server(RTC) running, sql server aganet running,
Does it mean this server had databases?
Please suggest me how can i connect to the server without management studio insstalled on the box?

You can have SSMS installed on a different machine within the same network and connect to the machine you're interested in. Most of the servers I used to administer did not have SSMS installed on them. I installed it on my laptop and then connected to the servers to get done what needed doing.
