I've got a 2000 SP4 server that, when you go under Eng Mgr's Sql Server Agent tab, has no Alerts or Operators. In fact, not only are there no Alerts or Operators there's not even a tab for Alerts or Operators. Here's what @@version yields:
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.2040 (Intel X86) May 13 2005 18:33:17 Copyright (c) 1988-2003 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1)
Any idea what gives? How do I get Alerts and Operators in there?

Could be a problem with Enterprise Manager. You can reinstall the Client Tools from the install disk (make sure you select ONLY the Client Tools). You will get to a window where you can select which tools to install. Uncheck all but the Enterprise Manager and reinstall it. You will have to re-register your servers.
