  Hi,

  Access F/E with SQL B/E.  Central table Parmnum (one record) holds last used numbers for say SOR, INV etc.

  I cannot lock my linked SQL table so I presume I need a stored procedure.  I need to lock the table Parmnum exclusively, increment the SOR last number and return the new number to Access.

  Thanks - but I managed to solve it - learnt alot along the way - so a worthwhile exercise.
