Hi,
I’ve just registered after being referred here by a colleague so I thought I’d start a topic to say Hi, I apologise if I should’ve started this topic in a different area of the forum but I couldn’t see an obvious place other than here.
I’m relatively new to SQL Server but have spent the last 9 months or so learning on the job as it were using SQL Server 2012, SSIS and a little bit of SSRS. My background before that was mainly in MS Access and I’m pleased to see a reasonable amount of transferable functions, skills between MS Access and SQL Server in its many guises. I’m based in the UK and I’ll probably have a fair few questions over the coming months/years.
Anyhoo that’s probably enough rambling from me for me.
😉

Welcome to the party.
Sounds like you're doing well and learning as you go. Reading the articles here will help. A strong suggestion, read the questions and try to answer some. That will help you learn and reinforce what you've learned. Never hesitate to ask a question either. We're a pretty helpful bunch around here.

Lord Lucan. The Charge of the Light Brigade. The battle of Balaclava. The Crimean War. Half a league, half a league, half a league onward, etc. You didn't get on well with your brother-in-law Lord Cardigan...
Yeah, I know, my humor leaves lots of people cold.

I'm still unclear as to why they were fighting over warm clothes.
