  • Hi There,

    Welcome to SSC.. 🙂

A great starting point to start to learn is to follow the stairway series on this site. Take a look at database design, indexes and basic T-SQL. the stairways are example lead so you can follow the instructions in your own environment.

    Have fun

  • Hi

    Thanks for quick response.

sure i will go through that all points.

  • 1. You would do well to get yourself a copy of SQL Server Developer Edition (It's relatively cheap) and install it on your laptop or machine so you have a play and /or test environment.

    2. If your aim is to learn TSQL then it's best you get the basics right from the start.

Itzik Ben Gans TSQL Fundamentals book is a good read, I think, It should give you a good grounding.

    3. Ask as many questions as you choose on sites like these for clarification of concepts or any other areas of confusion always going back and confirming the answers you were given.

    4. There are lots of other resources on this site and elsewhere, such as SQL Server Books Online (SQL Server's official documentation) that you should also make part of your learning process.

  • Another vote for Itzik Ben Gan's book. It's an amazing resource.
