I like the search feature on the new forums. I'm finding answers now. Thank you for that!

I also want to make a compliment.
I really like the 'Who's online' feature.
Some interesting well-known names I discovered there.

Glad the seach is working. Frank, I agree the who's online thing is more interesting than I thought it would be.

Nice
Just beginning to get to grips with it.
Noticed today in Active threads, if on a page a while and then move to next, some threads repeated. Looks like it's due to new threads. Is the paging done on a new recordset each time?
Found a quirk with the emotions (smileys) where if you use and put a bracket immediately afterwards you get the standard smiley (colon/bracket). Not really a problem but something to watch out for.

Let's face it. You're right
Btw, how did other members manage to get this question mark or other icons next to the subject?
Is it a feature when starting a new thread?

Frank,
As I have found out (I had the same question but never got an answer), when you start a new thread, between the subject and the message are a bunch of icons you can use.

Sorry you didnt get an answer Bill, I've been pretty busy trying to fix the little stuff associated with the upgrade.
January 9, 2004 at 7:46 am
Andy,
That's okay. I hope you didn't take it as a complaint. I completely understand you all are busy with the upgrade and it WAS a minor question.
Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!

Only somehow 'new forum' related, but...
I've noticed that sometimes when I click on the link in a notification mail, an existing instance of IE is used and sometimes a new one is opened, although others exist.
Any reason what this might be?

No idea. We're doing a plain link, no extra stuff. If anyone knows, let me know.

Bill, not bothered by it at all, trying to make sure we address anything pointed out to us. Not to say we'll always agree or have the resources to do it, but I hate to have anyone post something and never get a reply.

Hi Andy,
1) When a forum-thread is started as a "comment-on-article", the article is mentioned as text-http-reference.
e.g.:
"Comments posted to this topic are about the content posted at http://www.sqlservercentral.com/columnists/dpoole/sqlserverstatisticalfunctions.asp
========================"
Can you change that into a hyperlink ?
2) When I reply to a forum, after the post-reply, we get redirected to the beginning of that thread. Maybe it's more relevant to redirect to the last page (my preference) or to the page the reply was clicked ?
3) can you (also) add the "first/previous/next/last -page" buttons at the beginning of the page (just below of the (perv/next toppic)) ? This way we won't have to scroll down the first page, when we want to go to the last page.
4) many times, the reply/reply wit quote/ edit don't give an editable message-textbox ??

All good comments and added to my list. I've turned the banner off again, still working on the problem with the page not loading correctly.
