Try the sort on Most Active (instead of Latest Topics). It doesn't make sense and they are aware of that one cause confusion.

It's latest topics, not posts. It does do what it says on the tin.
Steve has said that they will be changing "Most Active" but no change yet; that is the option you want though for "latest posts".
