Hi everyone,
I know this thread has nothing to do with SQL Server, but since I'm used to use this site (I was a DBA who just became information system manager), I'll ask the question here.
I'm looking for a software that manage IT assets. Primarily, I want a software that can detect hardware and software on computer over network. If there is more options, like internet meetering, that just better. I've got 70-80 computer on my network, and I plan to have more than 100 in about a year.
Is anyone using a good software right now or knows a good one? I'm currently testing NetSupport DNA which has some good features.
Thanks for your inputs,
Erik

HP has Network Node Manager, although it may not be available separately from OpenView (which is probably overkill for 100 computers).
There are a number of under-$500 products for small networks, probably even some shareware. Google is your friend 😉

SMS & MOM each have thier limitations. Here's a cheap (less than $700) product we are workig with in addition to SMS and MOM - AuditWizard. It did a total discovery of about 1200 PC's and 150 servers in less than 15 minutes !
