We need SQL server 2008 R2 for the below Database servers with Windows Server 2008 R2 as OS for 2 instances(2 server)
Servername:PSQLDB
Dell 620
2 x 2.60 Ghz 8 Core
32 GB Ram
146GB Sas HDD Raid 1
1.2TB Sas Raid 5 HDD usable
I am expecting to get all the above hardware infrastructure ready by 14th Sep. Our action to configure production server
is very short and we are expecting all the required software dumps along with required licences before 14thSep.
Please revert if you need any more details on the same.Associated doubts in the link:http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1354394-1550-1.aspx
My query is whether to choose SQLserver 2008 R2 standard edition or Enterprise edition?
Please advice?
Which edition suits well for the above configuration by considering cost also?

Kumar

Maximum Number of Processors Supported by the Editions of SQL Server
From your other thread, you know it's 4 sockets/unlimited cores per socket.
so if, for YOU, processor=socket then no.
if processor=core, then yes.
